Le rôle du NFLP
L'accord franco-nigérian signé en juin 2008 a reconduit le Nigerian French Language Project (NFLP) dans son rôle de pilotage et d'accompagnement des efforts du Ministère Fédéral de l'Éducation nigérian (FME) pour une durée minimum de 3 ans.
Les champs d'action du NFLP depuis 2008
Ils sont au nombre de 4 :
1. Le conseil auprès du FME pour une meilleure compilation des statistiques sur l'enseignement du français et l'évolution des formats et contenus des examens de français (NECO, WAEC, JAMB).
2. La formation continue des professeurs de français des Junior et Senior Secondary Schools.
3. Le transfert de compétences vers les Colleges of Education en matière de formation initiale et de formation continue des professeurs de français.
4. La création d'un Master d'enseignement du Français Langue Etrangère au travers d'une formation à distance dispensée par le Village Français du Nigeria (VFN) de Badagry en partenariat avec l'Université de Lagos (UNILAG) et le Centre de Linguistique Appliquée (CLA) de l'Université de Franche-Comté (Besançon, France).

Role of NFLP
Nigeria and France signed a Bilateral Agreement on the French Language Project in June, 2008 to cover a period of 3 years. This confirms the advisory role of the NFLP of the Federal Ministry of Education in piloting programmes and activities within the framework of the Agreement.
The activities of NFLP since 2008
The Nigerian French Language Project:
1. Advises the Federal Ministry of Education on French language programmes and activities which include reform initiatives in French language examinations (NECO, WAEC, JAMB) as regards format and content and effective data collection.
2. Sponsors training and retraining of French language teachers at JSS and SSS levels.
3. Supports Colleges of Education to Train the Trainers (TOT) programmes.
4. Supports the new Masters Degree programme in teaching of French as a foreign language through distance learning by the Nigeria French Language Village (NFLV), Badagry in partnership with the University of Lagos and the University of Franche-Comté, Besançon (France).
